About Sandra

Environmental advocate, foodie and southern chef, Sandra Simpson, affectionately known as “Sustainable Sandra,” loves to incorporate new values with her old-school traditions. Her collards are vegetarian and her car is hybrid. A North Carolina Native, Sandra has reared a family and worked as a CPA for a fortune 500 company. She is the chair for the development committee of the Triangle Chapter of the U.S. Green Business Council, volunteers for UNC-TV and the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, as well as serves to make NC greener as a committee member on the North Carolina Plug-In-Electrical Vehicle (PEV) Task Force. As a writer and explorer, she focuses on telling stories of people that have a passion for living. This is to be expected as she works to live her life to the fullest. Sustainable Sandra loves to garden, explore local fare with top chefs, as well as work with corporate leaders to make green decisions in the board room. She is fun and entertaining and looking for ways to be greener every day. Come explore “Greetings from Green North Carolina!” as hosted by Southern “Sustainable Sandra!”
